That's not to say that these tables aren't still trendy. It's just that traditional brick and mortar retailers have only so much room for furniture and these other round tables have captured all the press this year.
So, what's the stylish small home or apartment owner to do? Look for furniture that will still work as a part of your home, yet is small enough not to take up all that precious floor space.
Where wood tables add warmth, metal tables can either lend an air of sophistication or even a bit of energy to the room, depending on the type of metal you select and the design of the table itself.
That's what nesting end tables are. They are perhaps the most flexible piece of furniture you could own, since one moment they can serve as a lovely end table, but when guests are over or the holidays roll around, you have additional table space for appetizers, drinks and the usual overflow of desserts.
When it comes to furnishings in the living space, the number of people who are in the home at the time dictate what is really needed to make it a good space. If there are just a few of you, you only need one or two end tables and they will take care of holding drinks, a lamp, and maybe a few appetizers, so you can kick back and enjoy your favorite show. But what if you are entertaining? If you have a number of people over, and break into a game of charades, a pair of end tables aren't going to be enough to hold all the drinks and other things they want to put down. You don't want those guests trying to play charades holding drinks in their hands, do you?
The best way to do this is to offer protective surfaces for those things to touch. Many people use table runners to protect the top of the table. You also may want to put a larger lamp on the table to make people more cognizant that it's there as they walk by.
