There are a lot of great reasons for you to get a side table. For one, they can be very aesthetically pleasing. If you pick one that matches your other décor, then a side table can add that little finishing touch that brings a room to life. Also, they are great for any place where you need some table space, but don't have enough room for a full sized table. While it's true that many people won't notice the side tables in your house, they are like the salt in your food: you don't notice it unless there's too much, but the food wouldn't taste very good without it.
For those with little ones, the children's teak dining table is ideal. The right size for children, this table is perfect outdoors or in. Kids can host a tea party of their own with this miniature teak dining set. As this table is extremely durable, it can withstand all forms of child's play. The kids' table is no longer a punishment thanks to this elegant, handcrafted piece.
Before choosing the right side table, let's look at the advantages of a side table in the first place. First, it offers you extra real estate when you entertain, allowing you to serve drinks, appetizers and even some vintage bottles of wine. Because side tables often have drawers, you even have a convenient place for a wine opener, some cocktail napkins and serving ware.
Displays. If you have family heirlooms or souvenirs of your world travels you can use a side table to display them in an artistic fashion. This not only showcases some of your favorite things but also adds a little artistry to the room.
Dining tables and coffee tables most certainly have their place in the world. When you're sitting down to a meal, when your child is doing homework, wooden side tables won't do. They're too small. But it's their small size that makes them such lifesavers for other things when you don't have room for something bigger. Ideally, you should use wooden side tables in conjunction with your other indoor or patio furniture as an accompaniment, or wingman, say, to your regular table.
Space. The main draw to wooden side tables and end tables is how much space they save in living rooms and on patios. Dining tables, dinette tables and coffee tables are all useful if you require more space to enjoy a meal, get work done, put your feet up, etc. But often times we don't need so much space, just a spot to store a drink, or a TV remote. Large tables are the kiss of death for small areas and apartment style living. They make spaces look smaller, and you've probably bumped your shin more than once trying to get around it. Maximize your counter space with bar seating and consider doing away with the full-sized table all together. Wooden side tables will really open up a room.
Another popular type of teak table is teak coffee tables. Since no living space is complete without the perfect coffee table, there is an assortment of coffee tables to choose from. Round and square teak coffee tables are great for smaller spaces while rectangular ones coincide with almost every sofa set. Some include bottoms which are ideal for storing a variety of items. Since most teak coffee tables fit perfectly with teak chairs, these tables are great for sharing a small meal or snack with friends. Teak coffee tables are also perfect for showcasing books and small sculptures.
