Even though they can often be an afterthought, don't forget about end tables when you go to decorate or redecorate a room. They can be the beginning of your journey into interior design. They may be the only ornament a room needs to complement the existing décor and make the look complete.
Many antique pieces are lovely and functional, and bring a rustic look to the room. With the aged appearance of the finish, antique styles lend a handcrafted grace and can be used as a focal point in the room. For a more modern décor, glass topped tables may enhance the overall style in the room.
First, why do you need coffee tables and end tables - or either one of these? Many use them simply for show, and rarely for coffee. Others use them only when they have guests while yet others actually use them in the course of a normal day for their primary intended use.
That's what nesting end tables are. They are perhaps the most flexible piece of furniture you could own, since one moment they can serve as a lovely end table, but when guests are over or the holidays roll around, you have additional table space for appetizers, drinks and the usual overflow of desserts.
So whether your room needs a little romance or a little sparkle you'll find it in an end table. Try a larger or striking one between a pair of chairs or a pair of matching tables to flank a sofa. Choose from twisted wood legs, glass or marble tops and leather inlays to find the table that is right for you.
This is a terrific idea, by the way. Whenever you get new round end tables for the living room, you can re purpose the old ones in other rooms, adding a new table to your master, a kid's room or even a bathroom. Not only a great use of your old furniture, but very Eco-friendly too.
