Finally, there's color to consider. When choosing the perfect table you want to consider the wood. If you're upholstered furniture has wood accents, you want the table woods to match. For example, stay with cherry or at least a dark wood if your sofa or chairs have cherry accents or match blond woods with blood woods. You don't have to use all the same shape of tables when choosing the perfect end table. But you do want to create a family feel. The style, color, finish and accents can tie them all together.
That's not to say that these tables aren't still trendy. It's just that traditional brick and mortar retailers have only so much room for furniture and these other round tables have captured all the press this year.
Dimensions of Occasional Tables. It is open to debate which is the more important: the look and feel of your occasional tables or their dimensions. Perhaps dimensions are irrelevant if you find a superb coffee table that matches your furniture perfectly. Maybe that superb-looking end table is ideal for your sofa or armchairs. Forget their sizes - they look great so let's buy them!
Look around at your existing furniture. Is wood the main material, or do you favor glass and chrome? Maybe wrought iron is more your style. If wood dominates the room, your choice for end tables can be stained pine, oak or cherry, to name just a few. The color you choose should coordinate with the wood color of the current furnishings in your room, and be compatible with the pattern on your upholstered pieces and window treatments. If your decorating style tends to be eclectic, then a mixture of materials and looks might have great appeal to you. Glass tables not only look modern and chic, but also add depth to a room that is small in size.
First, why do you need coffee tables and end tables - or either one of these? Many use them simply for show, and rarely for coffee. Others use them only when they have guests while yet others actually use them in the course of a normal day for their primary intended use.
While styles and tastes have changed over the years, nesting tables have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years. As manufacturers have developed new takes on this classic, new nesting end tables are finding their way back on the market in large numbers.
